In the annals of Chinese mythology, a few figures stand out. The ruler of Hell, the man who killed the suns, and the first being who created the Earth.
And then there's this man.
Here in arid Gansu province, at a temple named in his honor, a crowd of people have gathered to celebrate Fu Xi, the man who crafted the beginnings of Chinese civilization.
According to mythology, Fu Xi and his wife Nv Wa are the progenitors of humanity. Between the two of them, they are responsible for creating people, writing, fishing, trapping, and even the wall between heaven and Earth.
In this show it will teach you how to save someone’s life! If someone suddenly faints, first call an ambulance, but before the ambulance gets there, there is a point on the person’s body that you should look for, the Renzhong Point. It’s right under the nose, above the mouth. You’ll see there is an indent, the renzhong point is right around the middle of this indent.
When looking for the point, look at the indent as three equal sections. The renzhong point is where the top section and middle section meet. The renzhong point is a very special spot below the nose; according to Chinese medicine, since it involves the function of respiration it therefore represents“heaven” qi, which is a kind of “yang” energy. The mouth is used for eating, and food comes from the earth, so the mouth represents “earth” qi, a kind of “yin” energy.
The renzhong point, being in between the two, is a connection between the two kinds of energy. According to Chinese medicine, one’s health is determined by the balance of yin and yang, if this balance is upset one will become ill. Fainting and shock both occur when yin and yang are separated, and this may result in death.
In an emergency, you can use the nail of your thumb to cover the surrounding area, on the person’s renzhong point. Press hard on the point for several minutes, and soon enough the person will wake up.
