China won more gold medals at the 2008 Olympics than any other country. China has been criticized for training athletes only in Olympic sports, but as Susan Tart shares with us, the country is investing in a non-Olympic sport that many of us played as kids.

Baseball might not be a popular sport in China, but its younger cousin teeball is proving a big hit. With the opening of the teeball national championship in China, the sport is gaining fans of all ages. High school P-E teacher Shi Yu says his students are quickly becoming interested in the sport.

Police had been questioning Chinese Football Association chief, Nan Yong, about alleged corruption in the Chinese game for some days. On Friday China's General Administration of Sport announced that he had been removed from office. Nan, only took over as head of the– the CFA - early last year. Deputy director Yang Yimin, who was in charge of refereeing in the country's professional leagues has also been dismissed.

Cui Dalin, deputy director of the General Administration of Sport told reporters that certain people and their acts has tainted the image of the CFA, put Chinese soccer into jeopardy and hurt the fans' feelings, said on chinadaily.com.

This is the third time that China's Ministry ofsoccer scandal has released details of the ongoing probe into soccer scandals.

It drew a lot of attention from those standing on both sides of the generation gap when it claimed that in terms of attitude towards work, members of today’s younger generation are lazier than their elders. That's not necessary. Football is something for the pitch. It shouldn't be mixed up with politics. The government can give football teams financial support and lead them to develop in a better way. I think it won't help a bit if our country interferes with the team's training.
