Rewards Given For Porn Reports

Jan 19, 2010
The National "Anti-Pornography" Office held a ceremony earlier this month to reward and recognize individuals who had reported illegal pornographic websites, as part of the government continued crackdown against what it deems illicit material.

Xiao Zhang A university student from Shanxi Province, received a 15-hundred dollar reward as a result of submitting a letter reporting over 32 obscene and pornographic websites. In his letter, Xiao Zhang claimed that these porn sites had led to six of the eight people he shared a dorm with at school having sexual experiences. In two of the cases, he said the girls involved had had an abortion.

The news sparked a lot of discussion on forums around the country, and on the website NetEase in particular. Let's go to B-O-N's Kevin Jia in the newsroom to see what people have been saying about this online.
