Secondhand Or New?
Dec 24, 2009
In the United States, it's not unusual to buy a car second-hand; that's because that way the buyer can choose a preferred brand within the range of their pocket. However, in China things are quite different. Here people think of second-hand cars as nothing more than clunkers, - but that attitude may be changing.
According to the China Automobile Dealers Association, there were about 2.4 million second-hand cars for sale in the first nine months of this year, an increase of 28% from last year. And by the end of this year, it's thought around 3.2 million such cars will have been sold.
So does this mean Chinese car buyers' attitudes to second hand are changing? In today's straight from the street, we asked people: Would you prefer a second hand car to a new car?
