No sooner had news of a series of suicides at the company that manufactures iPads and iPhones been forced from the news by government decree, than word of a strike at a massive Honda assembly plant in southern China started to make its way into the media here. It's the latest incident in what's shaping up to be a rough summer for manufacturers and governments across China's manufacturing heartland.
As you may remember, we reported recently on a strike by Honda workers in the South of China. The issue seemed to have been settled a few days ago when it was announced workers and management had reached an agreement over pay, but now there’s a new twist. Was the action even legal?
