This is the land of the yang mei. A fruit that has been grown and eaten in China for 2,000 years. Filled with antioxidants, its juice has become a hit in the U.S. Though it’s better known as the Chinese bayberry and trademarked as the Yumberry, it could soon be known as the yuckberry if the supply of farmhands in Zhejiang can’t keep up with the fruit’s booming growth.
